    NRI Academy of Sciences awards the contract to automate its infrastructure to Amrita Technologies :

    NRI Academy of Sciences (NRIAS) is promoted by a small consortium of 32 NRI doctors from USA who were all born and brought up in Guntur and Krishna Districts of Andhra Pradesh. Amrita Technologies will help NRIAS to automate its healthcare by providing its state of the art healthcare solution- Amrita Hospital Informatics Suite. NRIAS will benefit from Amrita's industry expertise, technology leadership and extensive services capabilities to provide world class service to its clients and patients. This will enable NRIAS to create an environment that delivers applications on demand, conveniently and securely. It will help the hospital to support and document images and computerized records within a single application.

    NRI Academy of Sciences came up when Government of Andhra Pradesh made a policy decision to give an Essentiality Certificate to establish at least one medical college in each district of Andhra Pradesh. The city of Vijayawada has a population of close to 1 million and a drawing area of close of 2 million people. A group of NRI Physicians purchased 50 acres of land and established a 750-bed NRI General Hospital and NRI Academy of Science Medical College in Chinna Kakani, between Guntur and Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, India.

    The Medical College was started in the year 2003-2004 with an intake of 100 students with the kind permission given by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare as per the recommendations of the Medical Council of India. The college and the Hospital are situated in a sprawling campus and has a total built-up area of 12,00,000 sq.ft comprising of 8 buildings.

    The main objective of NRIAS is to promote the best in medical education & to produce doctors with global standards while providing  affordable health care to the needy people of the society on non-profit basis with state of art facilities and modern medical equipment. The entire necessary infrastructure is composed of fully-equipped laboratories, air conditioned lecture halls attached with a 750 bed Teaching Hospital as per MCI norms. Teaching staff consists of many renowned professionals from all over India.
