Amrita Technologies develops revolutionary software translator for Konkan Railway.

January 26, 2006, Mumbai: The Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL) has inaugurated its Java-based Railway Applications Package code translator called 'J-RAP', developed by Amrita Technologies here to facilitate its day-to-day activities.

In a KRCL statement, its Managing Director Dr K K Gokhale, who inaugurated the software on the occasion of Republic Day, termed the software as revolutionary.

This software can smoothly and efficiently translate all old Informix 4GL-based software programmes into Java-based programmes, he said.

The implication of this path-breaking software is far-reaching, which can enable companies, big and small, across the world to switch from the outdated 4GL-based code, which is no longer supported by any software company to the Java-based code that are cross-platform, easy to maintain and accessible on web browser.

The newly translated J-RAP has incorporated the look, aesthetics and user-friendliness as seen in any Graphic User Interface (GUI) program screens.

The software allowed conversion of all its 19 IT modules into contemporary J2EE platform. The new system would eventually be linked to the Internet, enabling the KRCL employees to access any of its railway related module from Internet anywhere in the world.

Indramohan Sahadevan CEO, Amrita Technologies, Pradeep Achan COO, Amrita Technologies, Ramesh Raghavan, Vice President (Engineering), Amirta Technologies and the chief architect of Konkan J-RAP platform, and Praveen Bist, Vice President, Product Development, Amrita Technologies attended the function representing Amrita Technologies.
